IOS 16 Beta 4 New Best Features - iPhone 14

In addition to allowing developers to test Live Activities, iOS 16’s fourth developer beta introduces new enhancements for remembering messages in both Mail and Messages.

In advance of its September release, iOS 16’s fourth developer beta came with some small improvements, with the recalled texts on iMessage and Mail receiving special attention. The upcoming full version release of iOS 16, which will be available in the fall, is currently in beta testing.

It is the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system. The second public beta of iOS 16 and the iOS 16 developer beta 4 were both released at the same time, however they differ significantly from one another. These pre-release software versions receive the most recent features first because developer betas are exclusively intended for use by verified Apple ID accounts for development.

These enhancements eventually find their way into both the final release and the open beta software.

The public release of iOS 16 is starting to take shape as the developer beta finally reaches two months since its initial release and receives its fourth update. At the Worldwide Developers Conference, an occasion dedicated to developers and their works, in June, Apple debuted the programme.

But iOS 16 has seen a lot of modifications in the weeks after the keynote event. The revamped Lock Screen and the iMessage recall, for instance, are two of the software version’s standout features. Similar to how new features that weren’t even revealed at this year’s WWDC found their way into iOS 16 through developer betas.

New Best Features

The capability to edit and recall iMessages after they have been delivered was one of the most significant improvements touted as part of the impending iOS 16 release. After the initial developer beta was released, it became clear that there was a catch: for the messages to vanish or change, every device connected to iMessage through iCloud must be upgraded to the most recent software versions.

Now that iOS 16 beta 4 has been released, the new feature is subject to even more limitations. Only after 15 minutes of sending the message can iMessages be modified up to five times. The user can view the edit history by tapping the “Edited” badge next to the message. Additionally, consumers have two minutes after sending an iMessage to remove it.

Users of Mail now have the option to cancel a message up to 30 seconds after it has been sent if the setting is enabled.

Lock Screen Features

Through the first three developer betas, Apple continuously modified the Lock Screen user interface, and the fourth developer beta is no exception. When the Lock Screen creation user interface is activated, new customization options are available to make the choices clearer.

There are new options at the display’s bottom to change the Lock Screen to a solid colour, gradient, filtered, or photo. Now that each widget field has a popup that states “Add Widgets,” users may more easily distinguish between the various widget fields.

More significantly, Apple made the beta version of Activity Kit, the API used to build Live Activities widgets, available. These indicate immediate and necessary tasks, such as tracing an Uber ride or a delivery order, and will immediately display at the bottom of the Lock Screen. Live Activities won’t arrive for iOS 16’s autumn release, but it will in later versions of the operating system.

The iOS 16 developer beta also features a volume control that increases when it is adjusted and a music player that is bolder on the Lock Screen.

The Home app now has new wallpapers for scenes and rooms, including CarPlay wallpapers that match iOS 16 and feature architectural and floral images. The release notes for the fourth developer beta also mention a number of issue changes, showing that the software is moving closer to the finished product that will be distributed in the fall.
