Pakistan's first electric car model, the NUR-E 75, was on display on National Day (August 14, 2022).

The vehicle's battery will be 35 kWh in size. 210 kilometres may be travelled in the vehicle after a full charge.

The vehicle will significantly reduce fuel use, aid in the fight against global warming, and uphold economic growth, claims Dr. Khurshid Qureshi, creator and chairman of the Distinct Technology, Collaboration & Entrepreneurship (DICE) Foundation, which created and improved the design.

A non-profit company with a US presence called DICE Foundation is administered by Pakistanis living abroad in the US, the EU, and other countries, with assistance from regional businesses and academic institutions.

Dr. Qureshi, a recognised authority on creating autonomous vehicles, claimed that the production of the car has three stages: the first involved industrial design, production, and launch; the second involved expanding production to include sedan and SUV, small commercial trucks, and EV platform export; and the third involved exporting the cars.

The fully working concept car, EV NUR-E 75, is available for testing and approval processes, he said, wanting to add that started production in 2019. Meanwhile, design process on a moving framework that will be used for different vehicles phases is in progress.

As he described the five-seater hatchback's many attributes, he noted that it had a maximum power of 80 kW (108 horsepower), a battery capacity of 35 kWh, and 210 km of range when the air conditioner is not running.

He claims that the fully electric car can reach a top speed of 120 km/h, has 16-inch tyres, 190mm of ground clearance, and can be charged at 220V for eight hours with the option of quick charging.

He emphasised that the car, which was donated to Pakistan as a present for its diamond jubilee, would be crucial to the case study's climate awareness component and help us move away from the usage of fossil fuels.

"Once it arrives on the market in the 4th quarter of 2024, this innovation will be a real game - changer both for Economic growth and poverty reduction and for the fellow human of the country's average population, and I can't stress that enough," the author says.

The DICE Foundation has been working in Pakistan for the past 15 years to encourage innovation, foster competence, and reverse brain drain. The organisation, which was established in 2007, focuses on the textile, automotive, health, agricultural, and energy sectors.

The DICE Foundation, USA, launched DICE as a strategic initiative with the aim of fostering a creative and entrepreneurial culture throughout the country. It is an encompassing programme that now incorporates a number of significant platforms.

The basic goal of all of these platforms is to ignite the invention cycle that the nation needs for growth, wealth, and sustainable development.
